Observation is Key

Have you ever noticed how observant you must be to draw something accurately? As you intently observe your subject you notice the highlights and shadows, the textures, the form or structure and the colours of what you are trying to replicate. As you observe, you can’t help but notice how amazingly designed our world is.

The Whole Family

Our lessons are made for the whole family to join in. Even toddlers can feel a part of the lesson as they use their creativity with the colouring in pages provided with each lesson. All you need to supply is the art materials!

Biblical Worldview

Drawing is a skill that can be learnt through observation and plenty of practise. And you can start at any age! These lessons can be used as a springboard to learn not only a new skill, but also to learn  about the natural world around us and how intricately designed it is. They’re perfect for when you need to change up your routine for a day, go a bit slower or just to refocus together as a family.

Each lesson is from a biblical worldview and geared to build the faith of both parent and child.

Owner of Drawing Creation

G'day and welcome to Drawing Creation!

I’m Cassie. I’m a homeschooling mum of 3 kids. In my early life I was interested in all things history and social science which led me to earn a Bachelor of Social Science. But a number of years ago, I started teaching my kids to draw using a great book I had discovered. During that process I found that I actually loved to draw. At around the same time, through a series of different experiences, I found myself fascinated by creatures of all sorts (after a life long fear of all things creepy and crawly) and really wanted to draw them. As I learnt more about the animals I was drawing, my awe of who God is grew and so my enjoyment of drawing and learning about God’s creation fell into a natural partnership. As my journey continued I realised that art is an awesome way to learn about creation and a great way to give children (& us!) examples of God’s designs that are faith affirming and point to a Creator God. What we offer This curriculum comes out of a desire to equip our children with: tools to combat ideologies and theories that are not God honouring to plant our children firmly in their faith and to give God the glory for all he created I pray you find the lessons useful and enjoyable.

"My daughter, 7, and I, found our art lesson easy to follow with enough detail for an adult but simple enough for a child. I appreciated the factoids around feathers that helped to explain the why so it was not just about form but also function. Highly recommended."
